Zoom Diallo added 22 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds as Washington overcame a 13-point second-half deficit to beat Southern California 83-79 in overtime in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament in Chicago on Thursday afternoon.

Quimari Peterson and Wesley Yates III each had 15 points and Hannes Steinbach had 10 points and 11 rebounds for the 12th-seeded Huskies (16-16), who face fifth-seeded Wisconsin (22-9) on Thursday.

Kam Woods led the 13th-seeded Trojans (18-14) with 24 points and seven assists. Jacob Coffey added 14 points and nine rebounds, Jacob Marsh had 13 points and Ryan Cornish and Ezra Ausar each had 10 points as USC suffered its eighth straight loss.

After trading baskets to open overtime, Marsh’s 3-point play gave the Trojans a 76-73 lead. Yates’ jumper, Diallo’s driving layup and Peterson’s 3-pointer put Washington ahead 80-76.

Woods made a three-point play with 36 seconds left to put USC down 80-79.

Diallo hit two free throws with 11 seconds left to make it 82-79.

Marsh missed a 3-pointer, Steinbach grabbed a rebound, was fouled and made his first of two free throws with two seconds left in the final margin.

The Trojans took a 40-33 lead at halftime as Kofi scored 12 points and Woods added 10.

Steinbach, who averaged 23 points and 20 rebounds in Washington’s two regular-season wins over the Trojans, was held scoreless until a comeback with 7:48 left in the first half.

After falling behind by as many as 13 points, the Huskies pushed on. Yates and Peterson hit 3-pointers and Yates added a driving layup off a USC turnover to make it 58-52 with 12 minutes left.

Yates tied the score at 58 with a 3-point play and Diallo scored on a tip-in with 9:01 remaining to make the score 16-1.

USC went 5:15 minutes without a field goal before Marsh hit his second 3-pointer to give the Trojans a 61-60 lead with 8:43 left.

Diallo’s 3-pointer with 4:25 left gave the Huskies a 69-65 lead, but USC responded late in the shot clock with a dunk by Ausar and a turnaround jumper by Woods to tie the game with 3:08 left.

Ausar’s dunk set the Trojans up before Washington’s Courtland Muldrew rebounded his own fumble and tied it on a throwback with 59 seconds left.

Woods missed a 15-footer just left of the key and left his second ball to force overtime.
