Xavier Edmonds’ double-double propelled TCU past No. 10 Texas Tech.

Xavier Edmonds recorded his 10th double-double of the season with 20 points and 12 rebounds, leading TCU to a win over No. 1 in Lubbock, Texas, on Tuesday. 10 Texas Tech came from behind to win 73-65.

TCU (20-10, 10-7 Big 12) won its fourth straight game, led by Micah Robinson with 15 points and Jaden Pierre with 14.

Donovan Atwell led Texas Tech (22-8, 12-5) with 19 points. Jaylen Petty added 17 points and Christian Anderson had 11 points and nine assists for the Red Raiders, who ended their three-game winning streak.

A jumper by Brock Harding and a 3-pointer by Liutauras Lelevicius went on a 5-0 run that gave TCU a 67-58 lead with 2:06 to play. Texas Tech responded with five straight points on baskets by Josiah Moseley and Petty, but Robinson’s dunk pushed TCU to a 69-62 lead with 1:01 remaining.

Atwell’s 3-pointer with 46 seconds to play cut TCU’s lead to 69-65, and Edmonds’ throwback made it 71-65 at the 31-second mark. Atwell missed a long-range shot and Robinson drained a pair of foul shots as TCU secured the win.

In a tight first half, TCU took a 21-14 lead when Lelevicius grabbed an offensive rebound and kicked it to Harding for a trey on the wing.

A 10-2 run gave the Red Raiders a 31-28 lead when Petty hit a stepback 3-pointer with 4:57 to play. Anderson’s layup in the closing seconds gave Texas Tech a 39-36 halftime advantage.

A 7-0 rally gave TCU its first lead of the second half at 44-43 on Robinson’s turnaround banked jumper in the lane. The Horned Frogs found success inside, outscoring the Red Raiders 38-22 in the paint.

As Texas Tech went cold, the Red Raiders didn’t make a field goal for nearly seven minutes. TCU took advantage. The Horned Frogs avoided a 14-3 flurry and took a 62-53 lead on Pierre’s 3-pointer.

The Horned Frogs had the advantage in rebounding. TCU had a 39-25 rebounding edge, including a 16-7 margin in offensive rebounds, and also won the battle for second-chance points 22-8.
