For many years, the Bitcoin community believed that the biggest holder of Bitcoin was the mysterious creator Satoshi Nakamoto. It is estimated that Satoshi has mined around 1.1 million BTC and these coins have never been moved.
However, this idea is now being questioned. Michael Saylor’s company, Strategy, is buying Bitcoin at a very aggressive rate.
So, if Strategy continues to buy at its current pace, analysts believe the company could have more Bitcoin than Satoshi’s estimated reserves by March 2027.

Referring to this, cryptocurrency enthusiast Lark Davies took to X and noted,
The strategy may actually exceed Satoshi’s estimated shares until March 2027.
Why are analysts so confident?
Referring to this, Davis emphasized that the core of this system is STRC (Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock). These are different from the regular MSTR Strategy stocks.
While the underlying stock price fluctuates significantly with the crypto market, STRC is close to a base value of $100, making it less volatile. Therefore, many institutional investors who want stable income are interested in them.
This comes after STRC saw massive activity, with around 7.3 million shares traded on the day, which is around 471% higher than normal trading volume.
This demand allowed Strategy to accumulate enough money to buy 4,038 Bitcoins in one trading session. In fact, funding crossed the 3,000 BTC level and reached 4,000 BTC in less than 90 minutes.
Additionally, over the past week alone, STRC’s Strategy estimates that it has funded the purchase of over 10,000 BTC.
That said, Davis also noted that Strategy has emerged as one of the four largest holders of Bitcoin, alongside Satoshi Nakamoto, BlackRock and Coinbase.
With its bitcoin holdings now at around 738,731 BTC, the company holds around 3.5% of the total Bitcoin volume.
Most of the community supports the Saylor Strategy
In response to this prediction, the cryptographic community noted,

Echoing similar sentiments, another X user added,
Satoshi mined his coins in silence. Absence of press. There is no preference share offering. Sailor makes it louder. One bought the future. The other buys futures.
However, not everyone expressed such positive thoughts. Some were on a round trip, as noted by user X who said:
Saylor will go down in the history books as the world’s richest man or the world’s biggest ponzi, you have to respect the zero game.
The second century of strategy begins
This marks a milestone in the Strategy, where by March 2026 the company has crossed more than 100 separate Bitcoin purchases.
In fact, many other public companies have begun to adopt similar Bitcoin treasury strategies.
Therefore, as we approach the end of the first quarter of 2026, approximately 193 publicly traded companies are still around. 1.138 million BTC, which is more than 5.4% of the total Bitcoin supply.
Final conclusion
- STRC’s funding model shows how institutional investors are funding new ways to acquire Bitcoin.
- The strategy remains controversial within the crypto community, with some praising Saylor’s vision and others questioning the long-term risks.
