Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a grand slam and Oneil Cruz also homered in the Dominican Republic’s 10-1 victory over Israel on Monday in Pool D of the World Baseball Classic in Miami.

The Dominicans (3-0) remained on a collision course with Venezuela to determine the Pool D champion. Venezuela has a chance to go 3-0 up when they take on last-place Nicaragua on Monday evening before they meet on Wednesday.

After a bases-loaded walk by Geraldo Perdomo to open the scoring, one batter crushed a 1-2 pitch 400 feet to left field for his first home run of the tournament. He added a two-run single in the seventh, and Erik Gonzalez added an RBI triple in the ninth. Gonzalez was an injury replacement for Jeremy Pena of the Houston Astros.

Brayan Bello pitched 5 innings and struck out 7 batters. Israel’s only run was allowed on a solo shot by Spencer Horwitz, but Israel (1-2) finished the game with just two hits.

Korea 7, Australia 2

Bo-Kyung Moon conceded three goals in the cycle and helped South Korea qualify for the knockouts with a comfortable Pool C win over Australia in Tokyo.

Korea tied for second place with Australia and Chinese Taipei at 2-2, but conceded the fewest points due to defensive outs among the tied teams. Hyun-min Ahn hit a crucial sacrifice fly in the ninth to give Korea the five runs it needed to win the tiebreaker.

President Moon is leading the tournament with 11 RBIs, recording a 2-run home run in the 2nd inning, 2 RBIs in the 3rd, and 1 RBI in the 5th. Robbie Glendinning homered and Travis Bazzana had an RBI single for Australia.

Colombia 4, Panama 3

All four of Colombia’s runs came in the sixth inning and they held off Panama in Group A in San Juan, Puerto Rico for a second-half victory.

Jordan Diaz scored first on a sack fly, Reynaldo Rodriguez scored twice on a single to left, and Daniel Belozin added an RBI single for Colombia (1-3). Neither Colombia nor Panama (1-3) will advance to the knockout stage.

Jose Caballero hit a solo shot for Panama, and Jose Ramos and Christian Bedancourt had RBI singles in the 8th inning, but Colombia recorded a 4-out save with Pedro Garcia coming on.

UK 8, Brazil 1

Ian Lewis Jr. homered and Jazz Chisholm Jr. had three RBI as England beat Brazil in Group B in Houston and prevented a tie at the WBC.

Chisholm and Matt Koperniak had a pair of hits and starter Brendan Beck pitched four no-hit innings for UK (1-3).

Gabriel do Carmo’s RBI double was Brazil’s only hit (0-4). Neither team will advance.
