The new film, which will be released in the US on April 10 and in the UK on May 15 after premiering at the Toronto Film Festival last September, stars Ian McKellen as a once-famous artist who becomes the target of an art forger, played by Michaela Coel.

Written by Ed Solomon, screenwriter of Soderbergh’s 2021 feature film Do not move suddenly, christophers family The plot sounds interesting. According to a press release, the plot synopsis is as follows: Julian Sklar (Ian McKellen) was once the star of London’s Pop Art explosion of the 1960s and ’70s, but he hasn’t painted in decades and has been penniless for years. Desperate for an inheritance, his two estranged children (James Corden, Jessica Gunning) hire Lori (Mikayla Cole), an art restorer and former forger, to pose as a would-be assistant in order to obtain the eight unfinished canvases Julian has buried deep in a warehouse. Her plan is to complete them and return them to the warehouse where they will be “discovered” after Julian’s death.
