Two drones target Oman’s Sohar province, killing two foreign nationals and injuring others, the state news agency reports.

Two people died in Oman after drones crashed in Sohar province, according to Oman’s state news agency, as Gulf nations remain caught in the crosshairs of the war the United States and Israel launched against Iran, prompting Tehran’s retaliation across the region.
The agency, citing a security source, said on Friday morning that one of the drones hit the al-Awahi industrial area, killing two foreigners and wounding others.

The other fell in an open area and no injuries were reported, the agency also said, adding that authorities were investigating the incident.
On Wednesday, Omani state media reported that drones attacked fuel tanks in the country’s Salalah port. Tehran denied having participated in that attack.
Oman’s state news agency, citing an Energy Ministry official, said there had been no interruption in the continuity of supply of oil or its derivatives in the country.
The private maritime security company Vanguard Tech reported the suspension of port operations after the attack on its southern section.
Multiple attacks against Saudi Arabia
Meanwhile, Saudi forces on Friday intercepted a drone targeting Riyadh’s diplomatic quarter, which houses foreign embassies, the Defense Ministry said on Friday.
The “hostile drone” was shot down “during an attempt to approach the diplomatic quarter,” the ministry reported in X.
Three more drones were intercepted elsewhere in Saudi Arabia around the same time, the ministry said.
A ministry spokesman said air defenses had shot down eight more drones in the central and eastern regions of the country, as well as in al-Kharj governorate and west of the capital, Riyadh.
Previously, the ministry reported that 14 drones were intercepted and destroyed in waves of attack attempts.
In Dubai, debris fell on the façade of a building in the city center on Friday morning after an attack was intercepted by the United Arab Emirates’ air defenses, according to the Dubai press office, which reported no injuries.
The region has been gripped by war since Israel and the United States launched joint attacks on Iran on February 28, killing about 1,300 people and wounding more than 10,000, according to Iranian authorities.
Tehran has since responded with drone and missile attacks against Israel, Jordan, Iraq and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
Lebanon has suffered greatly under relentless Israeli bombing, which has killed nearly 700 people.
