The trend here is that Tagovailoa will get his chance to start rather than being a long-term option. In reality, he’ll either compete with a young quarterback or be brought in as a backup.
The Packers could be a great fit for Tagovailoa. Not only can he learn how to play in cold weather, but he could also benefit from working with Matt LaFleur like Malik Willis and Jordan Love did.

With Love missing time each of the past two seasons, Tagovailoa has had a chance to fill in and step up as the primary backup. Plus, LaFleur can replicate his success and help Tagovailoa revitalize his career.

Michael Penix Jr. is a very talented passer. He is also prone to injuries. He suffered his third ACL injury last year.
Tagovailoa could compete with Penix or fill in for Penix’s spot while he recovers. Atlanta has a strong arsenal and is a dome team.

Tagovailoa will also have the opportunity to work with two-time NFL Coach of the Year Kevin Stefanski. Ironically, Mercedes-Benz Stadium is where Tua became legendary as he played his first overtime game at Alabama.
