The son of a US government contractor was arrested after stealing $46 million in crypto from the Marshals Service

John Daguita, son of Dean Daguita, president of the Command and Support Support Service (CMDSS), was arrested in Saint-Martin in a coordinated international operation after embezzling $46 million in crypto from the US Marshals Service (USMS), FBI Director Kash Patel wrote on Thursday.

John is believed to be a threat actor who previously said ZachXBT controls several crypto wallets linked to $10 million in suspected stolen funds.

In messages published in January, a blockchain official said that an address linked to the individual recorded more than $63 million in inflows at the end of 2025, and the funds were traced to wallets seized by the United States government linked to the Bitfinex hack.

Following the publication of the ZachXBT report, authorities told CoinDesk that they had launched an investigation into allegations that John moved crypto assets seized by law enforcement from government-controlled wallets.

Authorities are investigating whether he gained unauthorized access to these funds, possibly through connections with his father’s company.

The investigation is conducted by the USMS, which manages assets seized in criminal cases.
