Alexis Manyoma scored the game-winning goal in the 76th minute on an assist from Darren Yaffe as the Colorado Rapids defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night in Commerce City, Colorado.

Yapi also scored a goal with assists from Paxten Aaronson and Hamzat Ojediran. Rafael Navarro scored a second-half brace for Colorado (2-1-0, 6 points), which earned its second straight win.

Rapids goalie Nico Hansen made four saves in place of usual starter Jack Steffen, who missed the game with a shoulder injury.

Joao Klaus scored his fourth goal of the season on an assist from Gabriel Peck for the Galaxy (1-1-1, 4 points).

With a clever step-over move, Yapi created some space and fired a left-footed shot inside the far post to give the Rapids a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute.

In the 32nd minute, Hansen was tested as he reached to his right to block Pec’s shot from 18 yards out.

Late in the first half, Hansen tracked down a Pec pass from Marco Reus and absorbed contact, securing the save. Pec received a yellow card on the play.

Los Angeles put pressure on Hansen to start the second half. Colorado’s goalkeeper saved two shots in the 54th minute, but in the 56th minute, Pek passed to Klaus, who’s back post header tied the game.

But Peck was sent off in the 60th minute after receiving a second yellow card after tackling Navarro from behind, and Los Angeles played the final 30 minutes with a man down.

Yapi’s through ball set up Manyoma’s first MLS goal from just outside the six-yard box to restore Colorado’s lead.

Navarro added an insurance tally for a 3-1 lead in the 85th minute when Keegan Rosenberry’s shot was saved by the goalkeeper, but a tap-in goal gave Navarro a goal.

In the 89th minute, Navarro aimed for an additional goal with a left-footed shot.

Colorado had over 61% possession and won convincingly despite LA finishing with a 15-11 edge in shots.
