Alexis Lafreniere, Gabe Perreault and Tye Kartye each had a goal and an assist as the New York Rangers beat the Jets 6-3 in Winnipeg on Thursday night for their third straight win and the first since late November.

Adam Fox, Adam Edstrom and Noah Laba also scored for New York. Braden Schneider and Vincent Trocheck both had two assists. Igor Shesterkin made 23 saves.

Winnipeg’s Isak Rosen, Kyle Connor and Gabriel Vilardi scored. Connor Hellebuyck had 11 stops.

The Rangers opened the scoring with just 68 seconds to go on the power play when Fox fired a shot past Hellebuyck on a screen.

Winnipeg tied the score at 1-1 at 2:21 of the second period. Rosen scored his first goal for the Jets when he deflected a puck from the slot into the net.

The Rangers regained the lead with 12:24 left in the middle frame. Lafreniere scored on Borgen’s shot from the blue line to make it 2-1.

The back-and-forth battle continued when Connor danced around New York’s defense and fired a wrist shot past Shesterkin to tie the game at 2-2 with 2:11 remaining in the stanza.

The Rangers took the lead again 1:15 into the third period when Kartye was left alone while driving to the net to give his team a 3-2 advantage.

New York’s advantage once again did not last long as Vilardi pulled the Jets level to 3-3 with a backhand just 3 minutes, 4 seconds later.

The Rangers went ahead for the fourth time after Perot completed a quick cycle with a tap-in at 2:38 after New York had given up the lead to make it 4-3.

Edstrom added an insurance marker for the Rangers, hitting a shot from the slot at 11:08 of the third period to make it 5-3.

Lava added an empty-netter with 51 seconds left.
