Ingram was injured in a collision with Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon late in the second period. MacKinnon received a five-minute major and a game misconduct after skating with Ingram, who suffered a cut to his forehead.
Ingram stopped 15 shots before being ejected.
McDavid scored the game-winner at 9:03 of the third when he completed a give-and-go with Draisaitl.
Ross Colton, Valeri Nichushkin and Martin Necas scored and Mackenzie Blackwood gave up 20 shots for the Avalanche, who had their five-game winning streak snapped.
Colton missed the third period due to an upper body injury.
Edmonton played most of the game without center Colton Dach and defenseman Ty Emberson due to undisclosed injuries.
Colton gave Colorado a 1-0 lead with a shot from the top of the zone just 32 seconds later. The Oilers tied the game on a power play goal by Nugent-Hopkins at 8:13 of the first period.
The Avalanche responded on their first power play opportunity when Necas beat Ingram at 15:41. It was his 29th goal of the season.
Edmonton tied the game again when Roslovic scored at 19:35 of the first.
Nugent-Hopkins gave the Oilers their second goal at 4:15 in the second, taking a centering pass from Darnell Nurse to give the Oilers the lead.
Edmonton went on a power play for nearly four minutes thanks to MacKinnon’s big penalty kick in the bottom of the second and top of the third, but was unable to capitalize. As a result, Nichushkin blocked Jarry’s Sam Malinsky’s shot at 7:04 in the third, tying the game.
Blackwood got an extra skater late in the game, but Colorado was unable to score.
