The Jets lost the playoff race after losing to the Ducks.


Ryan Poehling had a goal and an assist to lead the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets in front of 13,249 at the Canada Life Center on Tuesday.

Alex Killorn also rounded out the scoring for Anaheim, registering a goal and an assist on an empty net along with Tim Wase and Jackson LaCombe. Lukas Dostal was on Sunday at St. Made 12 saves for the Ducks (36-25-3), who bounced back from a 4-0 loss to St. Louis.

Morgan Barron scored Winnipeg’s lone goal. Connor Hellebuyck made 30 saves for the Jets (26-27-10), who had their three-game winning streak and six-game point streak (4-0-2) halted.

After a scoreless first period in which Anaheim outshot Winnipeg 8-2, the Jets opened the scoring at 5:04 of the second when Barron recorded his eighth of the season on assists from Elias Salomonsson and Cole Perfetti. The Ducks quickly flipped the script, scoring three times in 104 seconds.

Wase tied the score at 6:24 and Poehling gave Anaheim the lead just 14 seconds later. Killorn added an insurance marker at 8:08 to give the visitors a two-goal lead.

Jets: Josh Morrissey appeared in his 720th career game, officially passing Toby Enstrom for the most games played by a defenseman in Jets franchise history.

Ducks: The Ducks have outscored the Jets 12-6 in three games this year. The win keeps the Ducks in first place in the Pacific Division while continuing the hot run of goalkeeper Dostal, who has won 13 of his last 15 games.

Killorn scored at the 8:08 mark of the second period to cap off a three-goal rally for the Ducks in just 104 seconds to take a healthy 3-1 lead that completely changed the momentum of the game.

With this win, Anaheim recorded its third straight win over Winnipeg.
