The Blue Jays immediately reduced their spring training roster by five players.

The Toronto Blue Jays cut their Major League Baseball spring training camp roster by five players on Friday.

Pitchers Chad Dallas, Ryan Jennings, CJ Van Eyck, catcher Aaron Parker, and infielder Cutter Coffey were all reassigned to the team’s minor league camp.

Parker went 2-for-7 (.286) with two strikeouts in six Grapefruit League games. The 23-year-old made his first spring training appearance as a sixth-round draft pick of the Blue Jays in 2024 out of the University of California, Santa Barbara.

The Jays acquired Coffey from the Boston Red Sox as part of a trade package for veteran Danny Jansen. Coffey, a former second-round draft pick, went 1-for-14 (.071) with a double and two RBI in eight Grapefruit League games.

Although Dallas made only two appearances, he performed impressively, striking out six batters and allowing only one run in 2.2 innings. It was an impressive cameo for the 25-year-old, who missed all of last year’s recovery period due to Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.

Jennings allowed 2 runs and recorded 5 outs (ERA 10.80) in two spring games. Jennings, a fourth-round pick of the Blue Jays in the 2022 MLB Draft, allowed just one hit but walked three in his third major league spring training with Toronto.

Van Eyk, a second-round draft pick of the Blue Jays in 2020, made four appearances (one start) in the Grapefruit League. In 8 innings, he allowed 9 runs (ERA 10.13), 9 walks, and 9 hits.
