The company signed a framework agreement with the local community outlining the terms and commitments. The agreement includes earmarked annual contributions to the Community Development Fund tied to project milestones, as well as a community resettlement plan to relocate Karangas Village.
Following the agreement, New Pacific Metals will begin a feasibility study on the issuance of mining permits and conduct infill dredging to estimate the resource. Exploration will target deeper zones and new targets. The company has a strong balance sheet that allows it to meet its commitments and accelerate exploration and drilling activities.
Earlier on February 11, the company reported disappointing financial results for the three months and six months ended December 31, 2025. The company posted a dividend and loss of $1.58 million, or $0.01 per share, and a net loss of $2.33 million, or $0.01 per share, for the three and six months. This was a significant increase from a net loss of $0.74 million and $2 million for the three and six months ended December 31, 2024, respectively.
