Tatsuya Imai pitched three perfect innings, Jose Altuve hit his first home run of spring training, and the Houston Astros beat the host Miami Marlins 4-1 on Wednesday in Jupiter, Florida.

Japanese ace Imai, who signed a three-year, $54 million contract with the Astros this winter, needed just four pitches (24 strikes) to get through Miami’s lineup. Isaac Paredes broke the 0-0 deadlock with a solo shot in the 4th inning, and Jack Cole and Altuve achieved a comeback victory in the 6th.

Heriberto Hernández hit his third home run of the spring for the Marlins’ lone run. Starting pitcher Max Meyer struck out six batters in three innings, Jansen Junk gave up the first home run and Bradley Blarock allowed the next two home runs.

Braves 5, Rays 3

Matt Olson’s first-inning home run was his third long ball this spring, and Brett Wisely added another as Atlanta visited Tampa Bay in North Port, Florida.

Olson went 2-for-3 and Austin Riley added an RBI double for the Braves. Spencer Strider struck out five in four innings en route to his second win of spring training.

Ben Williamson drove in all three of the Rays’ runs in the sixth with a 425-foot shot. Although he went 2-for-3, Tampa Bay hit 1-for-8 with runners in scoring position.

Orioles 7, Pirates 2

Taylor Ward and Jose Barrero blasted three-run home runs to help Baltimore win its road trip to Pittsburgh in Sarasota, Florida.

Orioles starting pitcher Kyle Bradish held the Pirates to one hit and one walk over five innings, and Chris Bassitt worked the final four innings, allowing two runs but losing three.

Nicholas Cimillo hit a pinch-hit home run in the ninth inning for the Pirates.

Twins 2, Tigers 1

Kaelen Culpepper hit a walk-off single to left with one out as host Minnesota defeated Detroit in Fort Myers, Florida.

The Twins didn’t score until Ildefonso Ruiz’s sacrifice fly in the eighth inning to tie the game. Taj Bradley pitched 5 innings, striking out 7, allowing 1 hit and 1 hit.

The Tigers had just four total hits, but led for much of the game thanks to Riley Greene’s fourth-inning double that scored Matt Vierling.

Nationals 3, Cardinals 1

Abimelech Ortiz and Trey Lipscomb put Washington ahead in the eighth inning, and the home team defeated St. Louis in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Ortiz broke a 1-1 tie with an RBI double and Lipscomb followed two batters later with a run-scoring single for the Nationals. Cade Cavalli and four relievers combined to hold the Cardinals to five hits.

Nolan Gorman tied the game for the Cardinals with a run-plating single in the sixth after Daylen Lile got Washington on the board with an RBI double in the first.
