As a team, the Royals had 13 hits and 15 walks. Eleven players recorded a hit.
Rockies starting pitcher Michael Lorenzen allowed five runs, four hits and four walks in two innings. Royals starting pitcher Seth Lugo fared better, giving up two runs, six hits and no walks over three innings.
Jordan Beck and Charlie Condon each homered for the Rockies. This is Condon’s third home run of the spring.
Rangers 7, Dodgers 6
Sam Haggerty homered and Texas beat Los Angeles in Surprise, Arizona.
The Dodgers had a split squad day. Dalton Rushing, Nick Senzel, Mike Sirota and Jake Gelof each homered for Los Angeles.
Andrew Velazquez and Nick Pratto each scored in double figures for the Rangers. Luis Curvelo earned the win, allowing no runs and striking out three.
Reds 9, Brewers 7
Dane Myers had two hits and three RBIs to lead Cincinnati against Milwaukee in Phoenix, Arizona.
Myers was traded from the Miami Marlins this offseason, boosting his spring training batting average to .375. Matt McClain also had a strong performance, recording two hits and an RBI, including a home run.
The Brewers got off to an early start, scoring four runs in the first inning off Reds starting pitcher Hunter Greene. Andrew Vaughn had one of his three hits in the inning. Andrew Fischer hit the Brewers’ only home run in the eighth inning.
Diamondbacks 8, Angels 5
Yassel Soler led Arizona with a three-run home run against Los Angeles in Tempe, Arizona.
Luken Baker hit a 2-run shot for the Diamondbacks. Jorge Barrosa added an RBI triple.
For the Angels, Alek Manoah pitched three scoreless innings, allowing four hits and a walk. Zach Neto hit a solo home run.
Cubs 6, Dodgers 2
Colin Rea, Ben Brown and Javier Assad combined for eight scoreless innings as Chicago cruised past Los Angeles in Glendale, Arizona.
The Cubs’ trio was dominant with 9 strikeouts, 3 hits, and 0 walks. Kane Kepley, a 2025 second-round pick, had two hits, including an RBI triple.
The Dodgers went 0-2 on the day of the split squad. They didn’t score their first run until the ninth on an Elijah Hainline walk.
White Sox 7, Guardians 5
Sam Antonacci hit his second home run of spring training, and Chicago defeated Cleveland in Goodyear, Arizona.
Lamonte Wade Jr. added a double and two RBI for Chicago. Starter Shane Smith sealed the win by allowing one run, two hits, and one walk in three innings.
Ralphy Velazquez, a 2023 first-round pick, went 2-for-2 for the Guardians. Alex Mooney had a two-RBI single.
Giants 8, Athletics 2
Eric Haase hit a manta that put the exclamation point on San Francisco’s six-run second inning against the Athletics in Mesa, Arizona.
Jean Carlos Sio added a home run in the eighth. Trevor McDonald pitched two perfect innings with three strikeouts.
Michael Stefanic had the only RBI of the game for the Athletics. In the 9th inning, a second run was added due to a pitching error.
Padres 7, Mariners 1
San Diego’s bullpen pitched six scoreless innings against Seattle in Peoria, Arizona, sealing the win.
Jeremiah Estrada, Mason Miller, Alek Jacob, Bradgley Rodriguez, Ty Adcock and Kyle Hart each threw scoreless frames. Estrada, Miller and Rodriguez each had two strikeouts. Hart allowed the group’s only hit. They had zero walks.
Luke Raley hit a 439-foot home run in the first inning to get the Mariners on board. Jackson Merrill hit a two-run blast in the Padres’ second inning.
Red Sox 13, Twins 8
Max Ferguson cemented Boston’s victory by hitting a grand slam in the 7th inning against Minnesota held in Fort Myers, Florida.
Jarren Duran homered twice and drove in four runs. Trevor Story hit a triple.
For Minnesota, James Outman hit the only home run of the contest. As a team, they had a total of 13 hits from 10 players.
Cardinals 10, Marlins 2
JJ Weatherholt, a 2024 first-round pick, continued to impress, going 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run and one walk in St. Louis’ win over Miami in Jupiter, Florida.
Cesar Prieto also had a strong performance with a home run and a double. Starter Michael McGreevy allowed one run, three hits and one walk in 2 1/3 innings.
Miami’s Andrew Pintar went 2-for-3 with a home run and an RBI double.
Blue Jays 7, Phillies 5
Josh Rivera hit a four-run sixth inning home run to lead Toronto past Philadelphia in Dunedin, Florida.
The Phillies got home runs from Bryan De La Cruz and Bryce Harper. Prospect Justin Crawford went 2-for-3 from the leadoff spot with a double, walk and stolen base.
Dylan Cease started for the Blue Jays and gave up one run, one hit and one walk in 1 2/3 innings. Toronto had a split squad.
Tigers 12, Rays 3
Detroit added 7 runs in the 6th inning and hit a grand slam against Tampa Bay in Lakeland, Florida.
Julks went 2-for-3 with a home run and a walk. Josh Peck also added a home run.
Starting pitcher Drew Anderson had a strong outing, striking out three and allowing no runs in three innings. Taylor Walls finally got the Rays on the board with a solo shot in the fourth.
Nationals 3, Mets 2
Starter Jake Irvin allowed three unearned runs on one hit, one walk and four strikeouts as Washington defeated New York in Port St. Lucie, Florida.
James Wood entered the first run of the contest on a groundout to drive in Seaver King. Warming Bernabel later extended the lead to 3-0 with an RBI single in the sixth.
Mark Vientos and Nick Morabito added one run with a two-RBI double in the seventh and eighth innings, respectively, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
Braves 7, Orioles 5
Chadwick Tromp leads Atlanta by three points against Baltimore in Sarasota, Florida.
Tromp opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning. He also drove in a ground ball in the sixth inning. He eventually hit a solo home run in the 8th inning.
For the Orioles, Adley Rutschman went 2-for-2 with a home run and a double.
Yankees 5, Blue Jays 1
Paul Blackburn powered New York past Toronto in Tampa, allowing no runs, four hits and no walks over four innings.
Jose Berrios got off to a strong start in the pitcher’s duel for the Blue Jays, allowing no hits and two walks over four innings.
With Berrios off the mound, the Yankees scored two runs in the fifth inning, highlighted by a double by Jose Caballero. Austin Wells and Kenedy Corona homered late in the contest for the Yankees.
Pirates 5, Astros 2
O’Neal Cruz hits a 3-pointer to lift Pittsburgh past Houston in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Cruz is hitting an unrealistic .538 in spring training. Marcell Ozuna had two hits.
Isaac Paredes hit a solo home run for the Astros. Due to weather conditions, the game ended in the 6th inning.
