The state of Alabama knows that Charles “Sonny” Burton did not kill anyone. He wasn’t there when his robbery accomplice pulled the trigger. But unless Gov. Kay Ivey or the U.S. Supreme Court intervene, Burton will be executed March 12 by nitrogen gas. NBC News’ Dan Slepian spoke to him from death row and to a juror who believes she made a grave mistake.
