Mandatory Credit: Troy Wayrynen-Imagn Image Scoot Henderson scored a season-high 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to an easy 131-111 victory over the visiting Indiana Pacers on Sunday night.
Jrue Holiday (five 3-pointers) and Jerami Grant (four) each scored 21 points, giving the Trail Blazers their second win in three games.
Portland All-Star Deni Avdija (back) returned after missing six games and had 18 points, eight assists and five rebounds in 24 minutes for the Trail Blazers.
Henderson added six assists and did not commit any turnovers in 26 minutes. Robert Williams III scored 12 points off the bench and starters Toumani Kamara and Donovan Klingan each had 11 rebounds.
Pascal Siakam had 22 points, six rebounds and five assists as the Pacers lost their ninth straight game. Indiana has dropped an average of 19.7 points over its last six games.
Jay Huff scored 16 points, Andrew Nemhard added 14 points and nine assists and Jarath Walker also had 14 points for the Pacers. Micah Potter added 13 points off the bench for Indiana.
Portland shot 50.5% from the field, including 15 of 41 on 3-pointers. The Trail Blazers maintained a 53-38 rebounding edge.
The Pacers made 43.2% of their attempts and were 14 of 42 from behind the arc.
With the Trail Blazers leading 69-52 at halftime, Henderson scored 19 points in the first half. Siakam had 13 points in the first half for the Pacers.
The score was tied at 30 after the first quarter and Portland outscored Indiana 70-50 in the next two periods.
Indiana took a 45-44 lead after Nembhard’s 19-footer just past the midway point of the second quarter before Portland scored 20 of the next 22 points. Grant scored his 14th straight point with a layup with 44 seconds left to push the margin to 17.
Holiday hit a 3-pointer to start the third quarter to make it 72-52. Indiana moved within 13 on Nembhard’s basket with 8:25 left, but the Trail Blazers controlled the rest of the period to take a 100-80 advantage going into the final stanza.
Camara and Henderson each hit a 3-pointer during a 13-6 push that reached a game-high 24 points at 123-99 with 4:50 left.
