Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Sen. Markwayne Mullin, R-Okla., responded to his earlier comments by saying he “completely understood” why Paul was physically assaulted and questioned whether “someone who applauds violence against his political opponents” is the right person to lead the Department of Homeland Security.
