Progroup has partnered with Acarton for operations at its Schüttorf packaging park in Germany, which is located near the PW05 corrugated sheet feeder plant.
The arrangement comes after Progroup’s previous partnership on the site ended, with Neighbor Hall preparing for a new collaboration.
The facilities are directly connected, allowing Ekarton to perform further processing in the field.
According to Progroup, the move restores the full value chain at Schüttorf and strengthens relationships with independent packaging manufacturers.
The company notes that co-locating production and processing brings many operational benefits. These include a consistent supply of corrugated board sheets, faster turnaround times, improved supply reliability and reduced potential carbon emissions due to reduced transport requirements.
The proximity of the two facilities is expected to simplify workflow, offer greater production flexibility and reduce logistics costs by reducing vehicle movements between sites.
In August 2025, Progroup’s corrugated sheet feeder factory in Cisalto, Italy began regular production.
This automatic plant has a speed of 400 meters per minute and a working width of 3.35 meters.
It is designed to manufacture lightweight corrugated board sheets with an emphasis on resource efficiency.
According to the company, the annual capacity of the plant is about 200,000 tons and it was completed on time and on budget.
Headquartered in Landau, Germany, Progroup is one of the largest manufacturers of containerboard and corrugated sheetboard in Europe.
Founded in 1991, the company operates manufacturing facilities in six Central European countries.
By August 2025, its operations include three paper mills, 14 honeycomb factories, a logistics company, and two waste-to-energy stations.
