Detroit left little doubt three days after blowing a 23-point lead at home to the Nets and secured the situation by halftime en route to its second lopsided win over Brooklyn this season.
Duren converted three dunks and made 9 of 10 shots from the field as the Pistons played a perfect game and earned their sixth win in the teams’ last eight meetings.
Cunningham, who endured Saturday’s loss, made 8 of 10 shots and was three shy of his career assist high. The star guard made four 3-pointers as Detroit shot 56.5% from the field and 50% (16 of 32) from 3-point range.
Duncan Robinson made all six of his shots to finish with 15 and Marcus Sasser contributed 14. Ron Holland II had 16 and Daniss Jenkins had 14 over the final 41 1/2 minutes as the Pistons built a double-digit lead, their third largest margin of victory this season.
The Nets failed to win three games in a row for the second time this season and suffered their 11th loss in 13 games. Brooklyn shot 42 percent and made 13 of 38 3-point attempts.
Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 19 points, but Brooklyn’s four other starters – Noah Clowney, Nic Claxton and rookies Drake Powell and Nolan Traore – scored 6 of their 21 points from the field. Jalen Wilson added 14 points and rookie Danny Wolf had 13 for the Nets.
Duren and Cunningham combined for 21 points with 16 for the Pistons, who took a 38-27 lead into the opening quarter. The Pistons scored 13 straight points to turn an 11-point lead into a 53-29 lead on Jenkins’ two free throws with 6 1/2 minutes left. Detroit took a 30-point lead for the first time, taking a 66-36 lead on a slam by Duren with just over two minutes remaining.
The Pistons led 73-40 at halftime, then held off their starter until the end and took a 105-73 lead through three plays.
