OpTic Texas increased its lead in the standings by sweeping the Vancouver Surge on Sunday in qualification for the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major.
Toronto KOI and Miami Heretics also had big wins, while Boston Breach won 3-1 in their other Day 3 match of Week 3.
OpTic Texas improved to 6-0 ahead of the second-place Los Angeles Thieves (4-1), who did not play Sunday.
Twelve Call of Duty League teams are competing in a full qualifying round robin to determine seeding for the season’s second major, which will be held March 27-29 in Marston Green, England, as part of the DreamHack Birmingham event.
The top six teams from the qualifiers will advance directly to the Stage 2 Major Playoffs, while teams ranked 7th-10th will advance to the play-in round.
The Stage 2 Major Champion will receive $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points, while the runner-up will receive $90,000 and 75 CDL points.
OpTic Texas defeated the Vancouver Surge 250-185 at Scar Hardpoint, 6-2 at Raid Search and Destroy, and 4-2 at Den Overload.
Cuyler “Huke” Garland was named MVP of the game with a plus-25 percentage (71-46). No Vancouver player had a positive rate.
Toronto KOI swept Paris Gentle Mates across three close maps, winning Den Hardpoint 250-241, Scar Search and Destroy 6-5, and Den Overload 4-2.
Game MVP Joseph “JoeDeceives” Romero of the United States led Toronto with 67 kills and 55 deaths. American Travis “Neptune” McCloud led Paris with 68 kills and 59 kills.
Boston Breach dropped the first map, Blackheart Hardpoint (250-77), to FaZe Vegas before picking up wins in Raid Search and Destroy (6-3), Den Overload (3-2), and Exposure Hardpoint (250-183).
Kris “Spart” Cervantez led Boston with a 79-65 KD percentage and was the game MVP. Chris “Simp” Lehr was the only Vegas player to post a plus percentage of plus-15 (86-71).
Miami Heretics swept Cloud9 New York, winning 250-133 at Scar Hardpoint, 6-3 at Scar Search and Destroy, and 6-3 at Den Overload.
Spain’s MVP of the game, David “RenKoR” Isern, had a 55-34 KD ratio for Miami. No New York player had a positive rate.
