OpTic Texas (8-0) continues its unblemished streak in the CDL Stage 2 Major qualifiers.


OpTic Texas remains the only undefeated team at 8-0, while the Miami Heretics pulled off an impressive win to qualify for the Call of Duty League Stage 2 Major as Week 4 concluded on Sunday.

Toronto KOI and Vancouver Surge also won other games on this day.

Twelve Call of Duty League teams are competing in a full qualifying round robin to determine seeding for the season’s second major, which will be held March 27-29 in Marston Green, England, as part of the DreamHack Birmingham event.

The top six teams from the qualifiers will advance directly to the Stage 2 Major Playoffs, while teams ranked 7th-10th will advance to the play-in round.

The Stage 2 Major Champion will receive $150,000 and 100 Call of Duty League points, while the runner-up will receive $90,000 and 75 CDL points.

On Sunday, the Miami Heretics took their fifth map with a convincing win over the Los Angeles Thieves from a 2-0 deficit. Heretics started with a 250-195 win at Den Hardpoint and a 6-5 decision at Colossus Search & Destroy. The Thieves came back with wins over Scar Overload (3-1) and Exposure Hardpoint (250-184) before Miami took Exposure Search & Destroy 6-2.

Game MVP David “RenKoR” Isern of Spain paced the Heretics with 95 kills for a +14 kill-death differential, while Jeremiah “Nium” Harrison of the United States led the Thieves with a 100-80 KD differential.

Toronto KOI won against Boston Breach 250-144 at Scar Hardpoint, 6-3 at Raid Search & Destroy, and 8-0 at Den Overload.

UK’s MVP of the game, Jamie “Insight” Craven, boasted a 72-35 KD differential in Toronto. None of the Breach players had a positive KD differential.

OpTic Texas rebounded from a 250-233 loss at Blackheart Hardpoint to defeat the Carolina Royal Ravens. Texas won 6-4 at Den Search & Destroy, 5-2 at Den Overload, and 250-192 at Colossus Hardpoint.

Game MVP Cuyler “Huke” Garland of the United States had 111 kills and +19 KD for OpTic, while Kaden “Exceed” Stockdale of the United States paced Carolina with 91 kills to 84 kills.

The Vancouver Surge started quickly and took care of the Paris Gentle Mates. The Surge won 250-214 at Scar Hardpoint and 6-3 at Colossus Search & Destroy. Paris finished with a 3-2 win at Scar Overload while Vancouver won 250-134 at Den Hardpoint.

USA’s Isaiah “Gwinn” Gwinn, the game’s MVP, had 115 kills plus 37 KD. USA’s Daunte “Sib” Gray led Paris with 96 kills and a +13 KD differential.
