In the second trade between the Blackhawks and Oilers this week, Edmonton acquired forwards Jason Dickinson and Colton Dach on Wednesday in exchange for forward Andrew Mangiapane and a conditional 2027 first-round pick.

The Oilers, who have bolstered their roster for another playoff run, signed Blackhawks defenseman Connor Murphy on Tuesday, sending a 2028 second-round pick to Chicago.

Dickinson, 30, is in the second season of a two-year contract worth $4.25 million per year. According to ESPN, the Blackhawks retain 50% of his salary.

Dickinson, who has 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) in 47 games this season, is a versatile player who can play left wing, center, and even penalty kicks. He logged just 103 minutes this season, his fourth consecutive time logging more than 100 minutes.

Dickinson, a first-round selection of the Dallas Stars (29th overall) in 2013, recorded 168 points (74 goals, 94 assists) in 549 games for the Stars (2015-21), Vancouver Canucks (2021-22) and Blackhawks (2022-26).

Dach, 23, is in his first full NHL season and has nine points (three goals, six assists) in 53 games. Over 78 games with the Blackhawks, the 2021 second-round pick has recorded 16 points (five goals, 11 assists).

Mangiapane, who scored 35 goals for the Calgary Flames in 2021-22, has seen his point totals decline over the past four seasons. He has 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) in 52 games with the Oilers this season, the first year of a two-year, $3.6 million contract.

Mangiapane, 29, has 257 points (130 goals, 127 assists) over 550 games with the Flames (2017-24), Washington Capitals (2024-25) and Oilers.
