Justice Williams hit a 13-foot jumper with 12.8 seconds left to tie the game at 67-67 before Perry used his body to block EJ Ryans and converted a left-handed layup off the glass.
Miami’s Peter Suder fouled out after scoring 18 points and the team was down 57-50 with 7:03 left in the second half.
Almar Atlason had 16 points off the bench and Perry added 14 in his first start of the season for the RedHawks (29-0, 16-0 Mid-American Conference), who remain the only undefeated team in Division I.
They won a program-best 14 straight on the road and completed a season sweep of the Broncos. Miami (Ohio) won 87-76 over Western Michigan on Jan. 6.
Coach Travis Steele’s frustration boiled over as he verbally abused officials and knocked down a speaker as he left the court at halftime. Steele was whistled for a technical foul and Ryans made one of two foul shots to start the second half.
Jaden Brewer had 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Williams and Lyons each had 14 points for the Broncos (10-19, 4-12), who have lost 10 of their last 13 games.
The RedHawks cut a nine-point deficit to one at 63-62 after Atlason converted a four-point play with 3:26 left in the second half. Antwone Woolfolk’s layup gave Miami a 66-65 lead, and Eian Elmer split a pair of free throws before Williams tied it.
Suder made a layup in transition as Miami erased an eight-point deficit to tie the game at 49-49 with 11:02 left in the second half. Just seven seconds later, Souder committed his fourth foul, and Williams responded with three layups and two foul shots in a personal performance that put him behind 8-0.
Suder made a layup to extend Miami’s lead to 26-23 with 3:05 left in the half. But Western Michigan scored its final seven points before intermission. Carson Vis converted a 3-point play to punctuate that sequence.
