Mika Zibanejad scored twice and added an assist as the New York Rangers skated to a comfortable 6-2 road win against the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday.

Zibanejad, who has three of his 10 career hat tricks against the Flyers (including one earlier this season), increased his goal total to 25 in 52 career games with Philadelphia.

Vincent Trocheck had three assists for the Rangers, while Alexis Lafreniere, Noah Laba, Gabe Perreault and Tye Kartye each had a goal and an assist.

Igor Shesterkin turned away 32 shots as New York improved to 3-5-2 in its last 10 games.

Dan Vladar gave Philadelphia six goals on 24 shots before finishing with Samuel Ersson stopping all three shots he faced. Matvei Michkov and Sean Couturier scored for the Flyers, who have won four of their previous five contests.

Laba got the rebound just 1:04 into the contest, but New York was just getting started.

About 12 minutes later, Zibanejad scored after taking a feed from Lafrenière. The two connected again in second-half stoppage time when Lafreniere scored on the power play off a nice display from Zibanejad.

Michkov’s power-play goal got Philadelphia on the scoreboard about four minutes into the second period. However, the Flyers’ momentum was short-lived as the Rangers scored three more goals before the end of the period.

Less than three minutes after Michkov’s goal, Perreault scored a power-play goal off a rebound to make it 4-1. The away team then scored two more goals 20 seconds apart late in the first half to send the match into a defeat.

Zibanejad’s power play goal following a nice no-look pass from Perreault gave the Rangers a 5-1 lead at 18:40. Shortly after the ensuing faceoff, Kartye scored on a forward deflection to make it 6-1.

Couturier found the net late in the third period to cap the scoring.
