The YMCA of Greater Rochester, in partnership with Metro Sports & Entertainment Group, will open two gaming labs for youth and young adults this year. Team Liquid, Team Spirit, HEROIC and PARIVISION were held to a draw in their PGL Wallachia Season 7 group stage match on Sunday in Bucharest, Romania.
Xtreme Gaming, BetBoom Team, Tundra Esports and Team Yandex recorded their first wins on the second day of competition.
The $1 million Dota 2 tournament will run from Saturday to Wednesday with a group stage where 16 teams will play in a modified Swiss system format. All matches are best of three. The top eight teams advance to the playoffs, and the bottom eight teams are eliminated.
The playoffs will be held from March 12th to 15th in a double-elimination format. All matches will be played as best-of-three matches until the finals, which will be best-of-five matches.
First place is worth $300,000, second place is worth $175,000 and third place is worth $120,000.
On Sunday, Team Liquid swept Vici Gaming, winning both from a deficit in 49 and 39 minutes.
PARIVISION handled Natus Vincere to win in 71 minutes in green and 43 minutes in red.
HEROIC continued their undefeated streak by defeating Aurora Gaming. HEROIC won after 51 minutes on red, while Aurora tied after 36 minutes on green. HEROIC won the final game with red after 50 minutes.
Team Spirit also defeated Team Falcons to improve to 2-0. The Spirit won in 47 minutes in red, the Falcons won in 50 minutes and the Spirit won in 41 minutes in red.
With teams looking for their first win in the opening two days, BetBoom Team swept OG in 45 and 57 minutes, winning both games from a deficit.
Tundra Esports improved to 1-1 with a sweep of Yellow Submarine in 36 and 50 minutes, both wins in red.
Xtreme Gaming won the first match against Team Nemesis in 45 minutes on green, Nemesis tied the game with a marathon 69-minute win on green, and Xtreme Gaming won the match in 65 minutes on red.
