Lionsgate (LION) Hits 2-Year High on Twilight Saga Deal

Lionsgate Studios hit a near two-year high on Friday, as investors jumped on its recently-clipped partnership with Saintbird to launch a new perfume inspired by one of its highest-grossing films worldwide.

In day-to-day business, Lionsgate Studios Corp. (NYSE: LION ) hit a high of $11.02 before ending the session at $10.66 apiece, paring gains of 6.71 percent.

In a statement, Lionsgate Studios Corp. (NYSE: LION) and Scentbird said they will offer a floral amber fragrance inspired by the Twilight Saga, with notes of fall macadamia and creamy woods, to capture their fans and create its signature atmosphere on Scentbird’s platform.

“This collaboration with Scentbird brings The Twilight Saga to life in an immersive and experiential way, engaging fans and first-time discoverers through a scent experience designed to be both shared and collected,” said Lionsgate Studios Corp. (NYSE: LION) said Debbie Olshan, director of consumer products.

Twilight Eau de Parfum will be available for a limited time through Scentbird by subscription and select à la carte formats.

The Twilight Saga is a five-film franchise that has grossed over $3.36 billion worldwide.

It is the listed company’s second highest-grossing film, close behind The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
