The Minnesota Vikings made a huge free agent move by signing Kyler Murray, and the NFL quarterback appears to have some history with the team.
Minnesota has struggled with its quarterback in recent seasons. However, Kevin O’Connell and Co. may be hoping Murray’s career bounces around after his struggles with the Arizona Cardinals.

But many NFL fans were surprised by Murray’s relationship with his new team. This comes after the veteran NFL signal caller revealed that he grew up supporting the Vikings before turning pro.

Murray said during a news conference Thursday that Minnesota was devastated by its 2009 postseason loss. NFL legend Brett Favre and the Vikings had a deep playoff run that season before losing to the New Orleans Saints.
“It’s a true fandom,” Murray said. “Run deep. Viking gear runs through. We have a lot of purple in our house.”

Murray and former Michigan star JJ McCarthy are ready to compete for the starting role next season. But considering the struggles McCarthy faced in his younger years, it’s likely that Murray will get every opportunity to be a starter once again.
