Julian Champagne scored 26 points in a successful homecoming and the San Antonio Spurs extended their longest winning streak since the 2015-16 season to 11 with a 126-110 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night in New York.

Nearby Bishop Loughlin High School and St. Mary’s High School in Queens. Champagnie, a Brooklyn native who played at St. John’s, made 6 of 9 threes overall and 10 of 14 shots after the Spurs arrived in the area from Toronto at 4 a.m. ET.

In front of a crowd of San Antonio fans, Champagne led seven Spurs players in double figures and helped the club extend its winning streak to 13 games from December 26, 2015, to January. Going on February 22, 2016.

Champagnie’s big night helped offset a second straight quiet showing from Victor Wembanyama, who had 12 points and eight rebounds.

Stephen Castle added 13 of 18 while sinking 7 of 10 free throws, tying his career high in the opener. Devin Vassell added 14 and De’Aaron Fox went 10 of 14 in the third.

Keldon Johnson scored 13 points and rookie Dylan Harper had 12 points and seven assists as San Antonio’s reserves totaled 42 points.

The Spurs have won their fifth straight win over the Nets, shooting 49 percent, 17 3-pointers, 36 assists and 13 steals.

Michael Porter Jr. scored 17 of his 25 points in the third as the Nets attempted a comeback before losing their sixth straight game. Day’Ron Sharpe had 14 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, and rookie Danny Wolf also had 14 points.

Rookie Nolan Traore scored 13 points and Nic Claxton had 12 before fouling out in the top of the fourth.

The Nets shot 46% from 3-point range and 38% from deep, but never led or trailed by 26 points.

The Spurs made 13 of 14 free throws to take a 36-22 lead into the opening quarter. Champagnie hit 3s on back-to-back possessions to give the Spurs a 48-26 lead with 2:20 to go in the second quarter and San Antonio up 71-56 at halftime.

Porter scored 11 points early in the third and the Nets hit a 3-pointer with 8:19 left in the quarter to take a 75-69 lead. The Spurs gradually pulled back, maintaining a 104-84 lead heading into the fourth.

San Antonio took a 26-point lead in the top of the fourth and pulled the starter a few minutes later.
