Jake Oettinger made 26 saves as the Dallas Stars extended their point streak to 13 games with a 2-1 win over the visiting Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Jamie Benn scored what turned out to be the game-winner on a second period power play. Oscar Baek also counted for Dallas, extending his winning streak against the Golden Knights to four games from last season.

The 13-game point streak (12-0-1) is the second-longest in team history for the Stars, who also had 13 points in 1999-00 and 2000-01. The team record is 15 games, set in 1998-99 when Dallas won the Stanley Cup.

Jack Eichel scored for Vegas, which suffered its third straight loss and sixth loss in its last seven games.

After a physical, tight check and a scoreless first period in which both teams made just seven shots, Eichel gave the Golden Knights a 1-0 lead at 1:31 of the second period. He ripped a wrist shot from the left circle past Oettinger’s blocker.

Dallas tied the score midway through the period when White backhanded a Colin Blackwell shot into the top left corner of the net.

The Stars took a 2-1 lead on Ben’s power play goal at 14:16 of the second inning. Wyatt Johnston’s shot into the slot fluttered into the air and Benn, positioned at the right post, reached out and slapped the puck over Hill’s shoulder.

Dallas has scored a power play goal in 10 straight games, the NHL’s longest streak this season.

Dallas appeared to take a two-goal lead midway through the third quarter when Jason Robertson tipped a pass from Mavrick Burk into the net, but the goal was quickly canceled out when Robertson was judged to have made a kicking motion to direct the puck.

Vegas pulled Hill for the extra point with 1:50 remaining, but Oettinger denied two shots to seal the Stars’ victory.
