Iranian missiles intercepted on Saudi and Jordanian drones launched against Qatar | Israel-Iran Conflict News

Qatar says the country was subject to a wave of drone attacks on Friday, of which 10 were fired from Iran and nine were intercepted.

Saudi Arabia’s Defense Ministry has said it has intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched toward Prince Sultan Air Base in al-Kharj, as the US-Israeli war against Iran and Tehran’s retaliation against Gulf states hosting US assets continue to engulf the region.

The ministry also said Saturday that it intercepted six drones heading toward the Shaybah oil field. Earlier, the ministry said a drone was intercepted and destroyed east of the city of Riyadh.

Bahrain’s Interior Ministry has warned people to go to the “nearest safe space.” It is the second time in recent hours that sirens have sounded in Bahrain.

Qatar’s Defense Ministry said the country was subject to a wave of drone attacks on Friday, with 10 drones fired from Iran. Nine of them were intercepted and destroyed, but one managed to reach the ground and land in a remote area.

The Qatar Civil Aviation Authority has said air traffic is partially resuming through a designated safe corridor. These are very limited operations. They are in coordination with the Qatari military, but this is only to evacuate stranded passengers and get cargo moving. They will not be traditional commercial flights.

In the United Arab Emirates, online airline tracker Flightradar24 reports that several Dubai-bound flights are on hold over the airport.

Previously, the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) reported that a “minor incident resulting from falling debris following an interception” had occurred.

The GDMO also denied reports circulating on social media about any incident at Dubai International Airport.

Al Jazeera’s Zein Basravi, reporting from Doha, the capital of Qatar, said: “Even with the frequency and volume of Iranian retaliatory attacks declining, all it takes is a few incidents to disrupt air travel, to disrupt global oil and markets.”

Across the Gulf region “we are seeing a series of incidents over the course of last night and this morning,” he added.

Beyond the Gulf, an Al Jazeera correspondent reported that a missile was intercepted over the Jordanian city of Aqaba. The city is just opposite Eilat, in southern Israel. Iran has been attacking Israel daily since the war began.
