The Jewish state and the US first launched a “preemptive” attack on the Islamic Republic after nuclear talks failed to yield progress.
Iran’s military has launched a wave of retaliatory attacks on Israel after the Jewish state and the US attacked the Islamic Republic, though the extent of the damage is unclear.
On Saturday morning, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the country had a “Preemptive Strike” On Iran “To remove threats against the State of Israel.”
U.S. President Donald Trump later confirmed that U.S. forces were participating while vowing to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, “Rage (Iranian) Missile Industry” And “Destroy their fleet.”
Tehran maintains that it does not seek nuclear weapons, insisting that its research program is for peaceful purposes only.

After the US-Israeli attack, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported several waves of missiles. “Launched from Iran towards the State of Israel.” The military said air defense forces were working to intercept the missiles but cautioned against those defenses “not hermetic” When the siren went off, the public appealed for shelter. The IDF called on civilians not to share the footage or reveal the locations of the impacts.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the elite branch of Tehran’s military, confirmed the strikes were underway. “In response to hostile and criminal enemy aggression … the Islamic Republic of Iran has launched the first wave of widespread missile and drone attacks towards occupied territories.”
Israeli officials said there were no reports of injuries, while media reported that an Iranian missile had hit an open area in the north of the country.
In addition to Israel, explosions were heard in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait, all of which host US military assets. An unnamed Iranian official told Al Jazeera “All American and Israeli assets and interests in the Middle East are legitimate targets,” adding that “there are no red lines after this invasion.”
The latest escalation comes after US-Iran nuclear talks failed to produce progress, Trump said “no happiness” with negotiations. Iran maintains its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and warns that a wider regional conflict could have major consequences.
