Regime change is not like before. Donald Trump said that he was the reason for attacking Iran.
At a White House briefing, press secretary Carolyn Leavitt played it all the way back.
It took the White House until the fifth day of military action to outline its objectives: destroy Iran’s navy; destroy its ballistic missile capability; ensure that its proxies in the region no longer harm Americans; And make sure it can never get a nuclear weapon.

There was no statement of intent to support a popular uprising in Iran, nor any indication that the US was considering a mechanism to do so.
“We think freedom is in their hands,” Leavitt said, referring to an Iranian people without a clue as to how “freedom” can be achieved.
He did not rule out the use of ground forces but said they were not part of the plan.
Asked about the reports Trump He responded that the administration was considering Kurdish forces in Iran in hopes of inciting a popular uprising, saying such a suggestion was “absolutely false and should not be written.”
When he spoke of “victory,” he spoke of American interests.
“Victory will be decided by the Commander in Chief,” he said, “after the goals and objectives we have repeatedly set are fully realized”.
He did not put a time frame for the military operation but said the focus was on “quick and effective” success.

Amid Wednesday’s military and political briefings, it was clear that the Americans were satisfied with their level of success.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio said on Monday that US military action was triggered by Israel’s plans to attack Iran.
It had promoted suggestions that President Trump had bounced back to a preemptive strike aimed at Israel.
On Trump’s motivation to launch the strikes, Leavitt said he acted on a “good feeling” that Iran was going to hit US assets and personnel in the region.
