Team USA and Team Mexico both entered their matchup with 2-0 records, with overwhelming dominance in their Group B preliminaries at the World Baseball Classic.
The U.S. defeated Brazil 15-5 over nine innings, showing off its strong lineup and depth, and then used a combination of timely hitting and powerful pitching to win 9-1 against Great Britain, which dominated the early stages of pool play.
Meanwhile, Mexico also went all-out and earned an 8-2 win over England, with the lineup contributing to a 16-0 win over Brazil in six innings under the Mercy Rule.

This marks the most anticipated Pool B match at Houston’s Daikin Park, with both teams remaining undefeated and fighting for top spot in the group. A win here for either team would not guarantee immediate qualification, with Italy also winning 2-0. However, it will give the winner a huge lead heading into the final round of pool play and control of the pool.
