After Solana’s incredible price recovery from less than $10 in 2022 to nearly $300 by 2025, it has been suggested as a potential replacement for Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization. This was again due to the fact that most of the decentralized finance (DeFi) volume seemed to have moved from Ethereum to Solana due to the emergence of SOL coin season.

However, Solana’s price has dropped below $100 again, and Ethereum maintains its position as the second largest cryptocurrency. With potential volatility in mind, this report explains how high Solana’s price will go if it actually hits Ethereum’s all-time market cap.

Solana’s price at ATH Atheneum’s market value is $583 billion

Currently, after reaching an all-time high in 2025, Ethereum’s market cap is $581 billion compared to Solana’s $160 billion. With that in mind, SOL would need to cross the $581 billion mark to fully recover Ethereum.

Using data from the MarketCapOf website, it tells how high Solana’s price needs to be to reach Ethereum’s all-time market cap. That puts it at $1,022, which is 1,178% higher than the current price. This means that SOL is currently trading at 0.8 times the price of ETH.

Solana’s dominance over Ethereum also extends beyond its DeFi activities. SOL has quickly become a powerhouse when it comes to Real-World Assets (RWA), and it recently successfully overtook Ethereum in RWA users. That’s up from 155,000 users compared to 153,000 ETH.

However, when it comes to RWA volume, ETH remains the dominant chain. According to RWA.xyz, there are more than $15.5 billion in real-world assets on Ethereum, compared to $1.7 billion on the Solana blockchain.

As of today, SOL is still far behind ETH. Even with the market decline, ETH still sits at a huge market cap of $246 billion, compared to SOL’s $49 billion. While ETH is the second largest cryptocurrency by market cap, SOL is seventh.
