Mandatory Credit: Sam Navarro-Imagn Images Pele Larsson scored a career-high 28 points, added six rebounds and six assists as the host Miami Heat won their season-high seventh straight game with a 112-105 win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night.
The Bucks have lost three straight and are in seventh place in eight games.
Miami’s Bam Adebayo, who scored 83 points on Tuesday, the second-highest single-game point total in NBA history, finished with 21 points, including just eight in the third quarter. He was 6-for-20 on field goal attempts, 0-for-5 from 3-point range and 9-for-13 from the free throw line.
Rookie Kasparas Jakucionis had a strong game for the Heat, scoring 18 points while going 5-for-11 on 3-point attempts.
Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with a game-high 31 points and Bobby Portis came off the bench to score 19 points. Bucks reserve Ryan Rollins had 16 points and a game-high 10 assists.
Miami played without three of its top four scorers: Norman Powell (groin), Tyler Herro (quadriceps) and Andrew Wiggins (toe).
The Bucks removed three players from the injured list. Portis missed one game because of his back. Kevin Porter Jr., who missed four games with a knee injury, added six points, seven rebounds and five assists. Jericho Sims, who missed one game with a knee injury, scored seven points.
The Heat, who led by as many as 14 points early on, took a 31-21 lead by the end of the first quarter. Antetokounmpo had 10 points in the period, but the Bucks were just 1-for-5 from 3-point range compared to Miami’s 5-for-13.
Adebayo had four points Tuesday, 27 fewer than his first-quarter total.
Antetokounmpo scored eight straight Bucks points in the second quarter to cut Miami’s lead to 46-43. Milwaukee cut the deficit to one point on a Rollins trey, but the Heat came out on a high, taking a 59-51 halftime lead.
In the second quarter, Adebayo was held to just two points as Miami shot 42.1 percent from the floor. Milwaukee had a 52.4% success rate.
Adebayo scored just two points in the third quarter as the Heat took a slim 85-77 lead after Milwaukee cut the deficit to four points.
The Heat led by 11 points early in the fourth, but Milwaukee had a chance to tie the game with Antetokounmpo’s 3-pointer with 51.9 seconds left. The shot bounced off the front of the rim and off the backboard, and Larsson hit a 3-pointer on the next possession to ice the game for Miami with 27.9 seconds left.
