It’s 5 o’clock somewhere right now, right? That was the theory put forward by retired WTA player and current Tennis Channel contributor Genie Bouchard when she sampled an Indian Wells signature cocktail called Drop Shot.
This is the second year that Indian Wells has launched Drop Shot. This tournament we’re looking to capitalize on the huge success of the US Open with our Honey Deuce signature cocktail.

Bouchard, 32, took to social media to share her appreciation for the pineapple-flavored tequila cocktail, which retails for $23 in a souvenir cup.
What Genie Bouchard Said
She reported that her first taste had a strong tequila flavor and a limited pineapple flavor.
The video cuts out after a few sips of tequila, but she later wrote that she recommends Drop Shot.

At $23 a pop, it’s a luxury purchase. Although it’s a bargain compared to the $27 Honey Deuce that fans wait in ridiculously long lines to buy in bulk at the U.S. Open in New York.

Bouchard is doing well in retirement
Genie Bouchard sang her sentimental swan song in Canada last fall.
She works on-air for the Tennis Channel. Bouchard also pursued a professional pickleball career, a move that former ATP players Jack Sock and Sam Querrey have also made.
Bouchard’s career year was 2014, when she peaked at No. 5 in the WTA world after reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open and French Open and playing in the Wimbledon final.
