The Blue Devils (29-2) earned 56 of 61 first-place votes after closing the regular season on an eight-game winning streak with solid competitive wins over North Carolina State and North Carolina. This is one vote more than last week.
Arizona (29-2) and Michigan (29-2) remained in second and third place, receiving 4 and 1st place votes, respectively, after a 2-0 week. The Wildcats are the No. 1 seed in the Big 12 tournament this week and have won their last six games after losing just two games in a row, while the Wolverines are the No. 1 Big Ten seed and have won four straight.
Florida (25-6) moved up one spot to No. 4, while Houston (26-5) moved up two spots to No. 6, replacing UConn (27-4), which fell two spots, into the top five.
Iowa State (25-6), Michigan State (25-6), Illinois (24-7), and Virginia (27-4) ranked in the top 10.
St. John’s (25-6) had the biggest boost in the poll this week, moving up five spots to No. 13 after winning the Big East regular-season title. Texas Tech (22-9) fell six spots to No. 16 after an 0-2 week.
Wisconsin (22-9) and Louisville (22-9) are the two returning players ranked 23rd and 24th in this week’s poll. Formerly No. 22 Miami was eliminated after a week, and former No. 25 St. Louis was eliminated after a loss to George Mason.
