Mandatory Credit: Joe Camporeale-Imagn Images Devin Booker had 30 points and 10 assists, Jalen Green and Colin Gillespie each added 24 points and the host Phoenix Suns left Charlotte in the second half to win 111-99 on Sunday, breaking the Hornets’ 10-game winning streak.
Rookie forward Lasire Fleming tied career highs with 16 points and four 3-pointers for the Suns, who went 4-of-5 shooting.
LaMelo Ball scored 22 points and hit four 3-pointers, Miles Bridges had 16 points and Kon Knuppel added 15 points for the Hornets in the first of a four-game road trip.
Gillespie made five 3-pointers and Green also made four 3-pointers.
There were 10 ties and 15 lead changes in the first half, but the Suns never trailed at that point, scoring the first eight points of the second half to take a 68-58 lead.
Gillespie capped a 12-2 run with a pair of 3-pointers to give the Suns a 98-85 lead with 6:02 left, then his fifth 3-pointer to make it 110-94 with 2:40 left.
Booker set a season high in points by hitting all 15 of his free throw attempts, and set a career high for most points without missing a game. The Suns were 23 of 26 from the foul line.
The Hornets, who are 16-5 in their last 21 games, have not lost on the road since a 136-116 loss at Golden State on Jan. 17.
Charlotte made 15 of 45 3-pointers, the ninth straight game the Hornets have made at least 15. Grant Williams (10) made three and Kneuppel and Brandon Miller had two.
Miller, who suffered from foul trouble, scored 11 points and 9 rebounds.
Kneuppel had 10 points and 1 of 5 3-pointers for the Hornets in the first quarter. Gillespie’s 37-foot 3 at the buzzer cut the Hornets’ lead to 30-28.
Green had 12 points in the second quarter and Booker had eight as the Suns led 60-58 at halftime.
Suns guard Grayson Allen (right knee management) was a late scratch.
