Darcy Kuemper stopped 11 of 15 shots before being replaced by Anton Forsberg, who made 18 saves in Los Angeles’ 6-4 loss at home to the shorthanded Vegas Golden Knights on Wednesday night.

For the second straight game, the Oilers took a 2-0 lead in the first quarter, but this time they never let go of their two-goal advantage.

Matt Savoy, who had a goal and two assists against the Ducks and two assists against the Kings, led a 3-on-2 rush through the neutral zone and passed to Jack Roslovic on the left. He pulled up and made a cross-ice pass to Ty Emberson who entered the right circle for a 1-0 lead on the snap with 7:25 to play.

Vasily Podkolzin scored from the left circle when a shot from a rush went under Kuemper’s left armpit and across the goal line for a 2-0 lead at 8:19.

Foegele made it 2-1 when he deflected Joel Edmundson’s point shot into the net at 12:15 of the first period.

Los Angeles missed a four-minute penalty kick by Darnell Nurse with 4:32 left in the first half, and Edmonton went on to add to its lead.

Mangiapane kept the puck on a 2-on-1 rush and scored from the inside edge of the left circle at 2:59 of the second to make it 3-1.

After getting Kuemper well out of his crease, McDavid got the puck behind the net and scored on the other end for a 4-1 lead at 4:58, ending Kuemper’s night.

Hyman scored for the second straight night during a power play at 8:44, sweeping in the puck after Draisaitl’s shot went off the end boards.

Draisaitl scored another power play goal 31 seconds later for a 6-1 lead and Walman made it 7-1 at 5:24.

Walman scored again at 7:36 to extend the lead to 8-1.

Kings defenseman Drew Doughty (lower body) and forward Joel Armia (upper body) suffered injuries during the game and did not return.
