The Dodgers will not visit the White House in April when they are in Washington, D.C. to play the Nationals, according to a new report.
more: Dave Roberts said the Dodgers are likely to add the former Blue Jays All-Star to their MLB roster.
That doesn’t mean the reigning World Series champions will completely decline President Donald Trump’s invitation to return.
According to Bill Plunkett of the Southern California News Group, a scheduling conflict will prevent the Dodgers from going to the White House in April when they are in town for their only away game against the Nationals.
Plunkett said the Dodgers may postpone the champions’ visit until later in the 2026 MLB season, writing: “A brief trip to D.C. before the July 17-19 series at Yankee Stadium would shorten the All-Star break for Dodgers players by a day. Many will not support this sacrifice, but after three games in Philadelphia, the Dodgers have an off day before returning to New York for a three-game series with the Mets. “That day (July 23rd) is the most likely because there will be the least disruption to scheduling a return to the White House.”
The New York Post reported in February that the Dodgers accepted an invitation to the White House after winning their second World Series in November 2025.
Some people in Los Angeles would prefer the Dodgers not go. Immigrant rights groups urged the team to deny Trump’s request in light of Homeland Security activities in Los Angeles and elsewhere.
