Climatex secures $4.1 million in latest funding, appoints new CEO

The funding will support Climatex’s development of engineered construction yarns and textile solutions, which aim to enable circularity and recycling in the industry.

As part of the development of this technology, Climatex recently filed two new patents, covering a sewing system based on a circular knitting process using dissolvable thread, stitch lock and nut lock.

Both technologies are designed to support controlled disposal and material recovery at the end of a product’s life cycle.

“We are excited to support Climatex as it enters its next phase of growth. The company’s patented circular textile technology is globally unique, strongly protected by an extensive patent family and ready to scale,” said Collateral Good Founding Partner Michael Kleindle.

Along with this growth, Climatex has announced Camilla Sjöningen Jørgensen as CEO-designate to lead the global scale-up efforts.

Skjønning Jørgensen brings 20 years of experience in sustainability, innovation, business development, and investment in the fashion and textile sector.

In his new role, he will focus on developing Climatex technology into global markets such as workwear, fashion and interior design, while building partnerships with industrial customers.

Current co-CEOs Adrian Oberst and Patrick Rupp will remain on the board as partners.

Camila Skjeng Jørgensen said: “Climatex represents a unique system-wide opportunity in textiles. By rethinking textile manufacturing at the product design stage, the technology enables high-quality, sustainable products while being designed from the ground up for disposal and recycling. I look forward to implementing these solutions with our industrial partners worldwide.”

Outgoing co-CEO Adrian Obrist said: “Climtex was created to fundamentally rethink textiles for the circular economy. This funding round validates both our technology and our vision. With the addition of Surety Good and Camilla Skjøning-Jørgensen as lead investors, we are ideally positioned to translate global technological leadership into the market.”

Climatex specializes in engineered construction cables that enable circular textile systems. It licenses its construction technology to global manufacturing partners and wire manufacturers who integrate Climatex active wires into their supply chain using existing materials and infrastructure. Customers include VP Textiles, Interstuhl, JAB, and Lantal.
