On March 11, Barclays cut its price target on Lincoln National Corporation (NYSE:LNC) from $45 to $44. It reiterated its equal weight rating on the stock. The company said it revised the targets at the life insurance group after reviewing cash flow and personal credit exposures to try to separate “perceived from actual risk”.
During the company’s Q4 earnings call, management said several updates were added to the supplemental investor outlook section released that morning. The update was meant to highlight the progress the company has made and outline some of its mid-term goals. The annex presents these targets as possible ranges to cover over the next two years.
Executive VP and CFO Christopher Nekzipour said the combined impact of these initiatives over the next two years is expected to support continued growth in capital generation and free cash flow. He noted that this development should eventually lead to the payment of higher interest by the operating entities to the holding company. The company also expects the group’s protection segment to continue to operate at margins of “8% or above.” At the same time, it plans to grow the annual account balance based on the spread and improve the conversion of free cash flow.
