Aurora Gaming Advances to DreamLeague Season 28 Playoffs

Aurora Gaming earned a spot in the playoffs with a 2-1 win over Team BetBoom in the final match of Group Stage 2 of DreamLeague Season 28 on Friday.

As a result, Aurora Gaming went 4-3 and tied for 3rd place with Xtreme Gaming, who fell 2-1 to Team Falcons on Friday. This sets up Aurora Gaming and Xtreme Gaming for the lower bracket semifinals on Saturday to kick off the double-elimination playoffs.

There was no change at the top of the rankings on Friday. Team Liquid went 7-0 through the round robin with a 2-1 win over second-place Tundra Esports, who went 5-2.

Team Liquid and Tundra Esports clash in the upper bracket finals on Saturday. The winner will advance to Sunday’s final, while the loser will face an Aurora-Extreme win in Sunday’s lower bracket final.

The $1 million Dota 2 event kicked off with 16 teams split into two groups of eight teams to compete in a round robin stage. Every series consisted of two games, with the top four teams from each group advancing to Group Stage 2, which was played in a single round-robin format of best-of-three matches until Friday.

The playoffs will be played as a best-of-three series until the finals, which will be played as a best-of-five series.

The winning team will receive $250,000 in prize money and $40,000 in club prize money. The runner-up team will receive $100,000 and $30,000 in club prize money.

On Friday, Team BetBoom won in 26 minutes in the red, while Aurora Gaming won twice in 49 minutes and 43 minutes in the red.

Russia’s Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko had a kill-death-assist ratio of 30-7-26 for Aurora Gaming. Russia’s Danil “gpk” Skutin finished with 17-11-22 for Team BetBoom.

After Team Falcons recorded a 48-minute win in red, Xtreme Gaming tied the game in 52 minutes in green. Team Falcons wrapped up the series with a Reds win in 67 minutes.

Slovakia’s Oliver “skiter” Lepko registered a 36-13-30 KDA ratio for Team Falcons. China’s Wang “Ame” Chunyu powered Xtreme Gaming with 19-18-38.

Tundra Esports won in 43 minutes in green, but Team Liquid responded with wins in 30 minutes in green and 43 minutes in red.

Poland’s Michal “Nisha” Jankowski helped Team Liquid with a 34-6-37 KDA ratio. Russia’s Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko led Tundra Esports with a 26-17-18 KDA ratio.

PARIVISION swept MOUZ 2-0 with a 32-minute win in green and a 41-minute win in red.

Russia’s Alan “Satanic” Gallyamov had a KDA ratio of 21-5-37 in PARIVISION. Malaysia’s Yeik “MidOne” Nai Zheng recorded 13-12-12 in MOUZ.
