Arturs Silovs made 22 saves as the host Pittsburgh Penguins earned his second shutout of the season with a 5-0 win over the Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday afternoon.

It was Silovs’ second career shutout of 47 career starts. Brian Rust, Ben Kindel and Justin Brazeau each had a goal and an assist, Erik Karlsson had two assists and Egor Chinakov and Rickard Raquel also scored for Pittsburgh, which improved to 10-1-3 since Jan. 13.

Adin Hill made 17 saves for Las Vegas, snapping his second straight loss.

Pittsburgh took a 1-0 lead at 14:56 of the first period when Kindell’s wrist shot from the high slot beat Hill’s blocker’s side.

The Penguins made it 2-0 early in the second period when Chinakhov hit a quick wrist shot from the right circle past Hill’s blocker and inside off the far left post. The score came six seconds after a Pittsburgh power play ended following a Mitch Marner tripping penalty.

Pittsburgh then extended its lead to 4-0 later in the period with a pair of power play goals. Rust gets first. After Jeremy Lauzon blocked Karlsson’s point shot, he scooped up a loose puck in the slot and drilled a shot past Hill’s glove side. This was Rust’s 20th goal of the season, marking his 7th consecutive season with 20 goals.

Rakell knocked in the rebound of another Karlsson point shot following the 15:06 mark.

Brazeau made it 5-0 with 5:01 left in the game when he beat Hill on the blocker side with a wrist shot from the top of the right circle through traffic.

Las Vegas forward Mark Stone left the game at the end of the first period and did not return after a seemingly innocuous shove to the upper left arm by defenseman Chris Letang with his stick in the neutral zone. Stone got down on one knee and immediately skated to the locker room.
