Silverfin, a cloud-based accounting software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, has promoted An Maes to the role of CEO, effective this month.
Mays joined Silverfin in 2019 after spending more than seven years as an accountant at EY.
She most recently served as International General Manager at Silverfin, overseeing expansion outside its home market of Belgium. In this role, she also worked on building relationships with major international networks and brands.
In her new role, Mace will be responsible for driving the company’s global growth strategy and expanding its range of products and services.
Maes will focus on rolling out Silverfin’s cloud platform in targeted markets including the UK, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Denmark.
She is also tasked with expanding access to the company’s platform-as-a-service model among accounting practices and software partners globally, while strengthening Silverfin’s presence in the Belgian accounting and finance sector.
Additionally, Maes will help companies automate standardization and compliance activities, as well as improve quality and client portfolio monitoring.
Mays said: “AI is fundamentally changing how accounting firms operate. As compliance becomes increasingly automated and standardized, firms have a real opportunity to differentiate themselves through high-margin consulting services.
“Silverfin plays a central role in this transformation. Our next step is to accelerate global growth while continuing to optimize compliance at scale and strengthen insight companies into our processes and portfolios.”
“Delivering on that promise depends on the strength of our teams and continuing to invest in the people who build and support our platform every day.”
Founded in 2013 in Ghent, Belgium, Silverfin says its cloud platform is now used by more than 1,000 accounting practices worldwide.
The SaaS platform was acquired by software group Visma in 2023.
“Accounting SaaS Platform Silverfin Appoints Maes to CEO Role” was originally developed and published by Global Accounting Bulletin, a brand owned by GlobalData.
