Aave’s “Aave Will Win” framework has passed the Temp Check vote, clearing the first official phase of the protocol management process.
An off-chain Snapshot vote on Sunday had 52.58% in favor, 42% against and 5.42% abstentions. The result advances the measure to the Aave Request for Final Comment (ARFC) stage, where terms can be revised before any binding on-chain votes.
The framework asks token holders to approve up to $42.5 million in stablecoins and 75,000 Aave tokens (AAVE) for Aave Labs. In turn, the organization funds 100% of the revenue from Aave branded products into the Aave DAO fund according to the DAO operating model.
The narrow margin highlights the shared governance framework as the protocol considers structural changes in its financing, revenue coordination and long-term development.

The ARFC stage will determine whether concerns raised during the discussion process will be edited before Aave’s formal upgrade proposal is submitted to the chain.
The split vote reflects the current management tension
Aave founder Stany Kulechov said in a post on X that Temp Check brings the protocol closer to a “full token-centric model,” adding that structural improvements will be made during the ARFC phase based on community feedback.

Critics have previously questioned the size of the funding package and the inclusion of 75,000 AAVE tokens that carry voting power.
Others called for clearer definitions and stronger disclosure standards around management holdings.

On February 25, rival reports from Aave Chan Initiative (ACI) founder Mark Zeller and Aave Labs provided comparative interpretations of past funding and value creation ahead of the vote.
ACI published a transparency report reviewing Aave Labs’ historical funding, while Aave Labs has described its role in building the protocol since 2017.
What’s next in the Aave management process?
Under the Aave governance framework, proposals typically go through Temp Check to the ARFC before moving on to the Aave Improvement Proposal (AIP) vote. Only AIPs executed on the chain are mandatory.
If the proposal moves forward outside the ARFC, token holders will vote on whether to formalize the DAO-funded model and approve Aave V4 as the long-term technical foundation.
The result could change the structure of Aave’s ecosystem, which shapes how the brand grows, earns and manages.
