According to local media reports, new forensic findings from the phone of crypto lobbyist Mauricio Novelli have revealed a draft document that links to an alleged $5 million deal to promote Argentine President Javier Miley.
A document recovered from Novelli’s iPhone during a forensic investigation into the Libra crypto scandal shows a three-part payment structure totaling $5 million. The screenshots of the note emerged after the publication of expert materials by prosecutor Eduardo Taiano in November of this year, reported Argentine media El Destape.
The draft memo was reportedly written in English on February 11, 2025, just three days before Milei posted about the Libra token on X. “Hello friends, this final agreement has been discussed with H,” the text begins, referring to crypto entrepreneur Hayden Davis.
The document then details the payment structure. “$1.5 million in liquid tokens or cash as an advance. $1.5 million in liquid tokens or cash = Miley announces on Twitter that her advisor is Hayden Davis / Kelsier / the Davis family. $ 2 million in tokens or cash = contract personally signed with Miley for blockchain / AI with consulting for the Argentine government and Javile and Javile and review.” reads the text.
It is worth noting that the draft note does not specify who will receive this amount.

Another note explains the crisis message after the scandal
Investigators also recovered a separate memo dated February 16, 2025, two days after the controversy over Libra erupted online. The post appears to be making a public statement intended to defuse the situation.
“This is what I want to tweet. This is the only thing that will save him, me and us,” the note was translated from Spanish. After that, the project message supports the Libra project while denying any financial involvement and connection with illegal accusations against political opponents.
Authorities believe the message may have been prepared for Miley to post on social media or a link in an interview, according to local media reports.
Novelli was in Dallas when the sign was launched. Call records show he spoke with Miley and her sister Karina shortly before and after the president posted about the sign on social media. As the controversy spread online, Novelli also made numerous calls to presidential adviser Santiago Caputo while the government managed the crisis.

Libra hit $4 billion after Milei’s post before crashing
In February of last year, Miley posted on X about the Libra (LIBRA) meme, which briefly reached a market capitalization of $4 billion, only to drop 94% in a matter of hours.
The crash wiped out hundreds of millions in investor capital and prompted opposition lawmakers to call for Miley’s impeachment. Miley later said that he only “spread the word” about the token rather than promoting it.
