Kawhi Leonard helps Clippers dominate struggling Pacers

Kawhi Leonard scored 29 points, Benedict Maturin added 23 against his former team, and the Los Angeles Clippers recorded their third straight win with a 130-107 win over the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday in Inglewood, California.

The Clippers improved to 24-10 since Dec. 20 with Brook Lopez scoring 17 points and Derrick Jones Jr. adding 12. Maturin and Isaiah Jackson were traded to Los Angeles on February 5, and Indiana acquired Kobe Brown and Ivica Zubac (ankle injury), who has yet to make his Pacers debut.

Darius Garland also scored 12 points with eight assists in his first home game against the Clippers.

Los Angeles, which led by as many as 23 points in the first half, pulled away in the third quarter after the Pacers fell behind 65-59 early in the second half, winning the first of two matchups between the two teams.

Pascal Siakim scored 29 points, Jay Huff had 18 and Jarace Walker added 17 as the Pacers lost their seventh straight game and fell to 2-11 since Feb. 2. Siakim (wrist) returned after missing the previous three games.

Aaron Nesmith (ankle) and Andrew Nembhard (back, neck) also return, but went 2 of 13 from the floor.

The Clippers were in complete control, taking a 102-77 lead into the third quarter. Los Angeles’ final score of the quarter came on a dunk by Mathurin, who looked to his former teammates on the bench.

Los Angeles is shooting 55.1% from the floor for the Pacers, compared to 42.9%. Indiana has allowed at least 125 points in each of its last six games.

The Pacers got off to a fast start, making their first four shots and seven of their first eight, before the Clippers led 42-35 after one quarter and 63-51 at halftime. Leonard had 20 first-half points for Los Angeles, and Siakam had 21 for Indiana.

The Clippers lost rookie Yanic Konan Niederhauser, who scored 6 points and 4 rebounds in 8 minutes, to a right foot injury in the second quarter.
